This week I was on vacation. I didn’t really go anywhere special. I was lucky enough to be off at the same time my wife and kids had some time off too. This makes me very appreciative, especially in this economic crapfest that swirling all around us, that I have a job that allows me to pick and choose my time off, that I have friends and colleagues that are more than adequate to pick up the slack while I’m away, that I had enough cash saved up to pretty much do whatever I wanted, and believe me I did. Its the little things that we often overlook when we take a step back and look long and hard at the not so nice things in our lives. I can honestly say that I had a great time and that I am fully recharged and ready to head into the months of work to come.
I accomplished a few odd jobs round the house. Went to some nice places to eat. Visited with my best friends and their families. I had a “yard sale” as we call them here in the south, and made some cash whilst cleaning out the junk and clutter of the house. I can’t say as I have ever had a better vacation, even though it was really a vacation from the typical vacations of the past. Cheers!
