It’s no secret that I often find myself pining for the 80s. I feel more every day that my teen years were the greatest years of my life. I miss it lots. I started listing the movies from the 80s that knew by heart. I don’t just mean the actors or the story but also the lines, the colors, the bad edits. Movies I have seen over and over and over again. Memorizing every little nuance.

An amazing thing popped up as a pattern right away. Most of them occurred in 1986. What a weird coincidence. Appears that year was just a bumper crop of awesomeness. (yep I used an 80s adverb) Here’s the list, my all time fav movies from 1986.

I don’t care who you voted for. In case no one ever told you, that is supposed to be private. Frankly it pisses me off when I still see idiots with “vote Bill Clinton” on the back of their cars. I don’t care what school your kid goes to, much less if they are on the honor roll or not. Schools are often status symbols for the rich and the vast majority of children do not take tests well so the fact that your kid is on the honor roll doesn’t mean anything. No one should honk for ANYTHING, except when there is an impending accident and you can avoid it by letting the other driver know you are there by honking your damned horn. I don’t give a rats ass if you support abortion or that you abhor it. The fact is that in most intelligent states it’s the woman’s choice as it should be because the law (which was enacted by intelligent folks) supports the woman’s right. I don’t need to know and don’t really care if you are a child of the sixties, seventies, eighties or any other “..ties” When I am following the rules of the road and watching it and the other drivers on it, I assure you I can clearly see that you have a baby on board. Any moron that needs a day-glo sticker to let them know that should have their license revoked indefinitely. I do not need to be reminded by a pea green gremlin to thank a teacher, principal, construction worker, geek, nurse, doctor, or any other profession. Should I be inclined to thank anyone, I will do it without having to be told by a gremlin. Any sane person can see when they are too close to another car, so your sticker, letting the world know “if we can read this we are too close” really does nothing more than incite anger and the nigh uncontrollable desire to rear end you. I don’t need your bumper to be reminded about national tragedies. Anyone with the slightest shred of patriotism does not need to be told that you “support the troops”. Likewise, pleading with me in your sad faded, run through a thousand car washes way, that I must also support the troops is equally redundant.

What I am trying to say is PLEASE FOR THE SAKE OF ALL THAT IS GOOD AND TRUE IN THIS WORLD STOP DERIDING THE REST OF WE DRIVERS ON THE ROAD WITH YOUR STUPID BUMPER STICKERS!!!
