Ghoul
There is a lot that can be researched when looking into the true meaning of the word “Ghoul”. It seems every culture and hundreds of writers have their own interpretation of what a Ghoul is. It turns out that the actual term is derived from an ancient Arabic belief in a creature given life by evil Jinn. It is said to lure unwary travelers into the desert wastes to slay and devour them. More modern interpretations of the beast tell of a creature that preys on young children, robs graves, drinks blood, and eats the dead taking on the form of their last prey.
Goblins
A goblin is a legendary, evil, crabby, and mischievous creature described as a grotesquely disfigured or gnome-like phantom that may range in height from that of a dwarf to that of a human. They are attributed with various (sometimes conflicting) abilities, temperaments and appearances depending on the story and country of origin. In some cases, goblins have been classified as constant annoying little creatures somewhat related with the brownie and gnome.
Hobgoblins
Hobgoblins are a stronger, smarter and more menacing cousin of the goblin.
Zombie
A zombie is a creature that appears in folklore and popular culture typically as a reanimated corpse or a mindless human being. Stories of zombies originated in the Afro-Caribbean spiritual belief system of Voodoo, which told of the people being controlled as laborers by a powerful sorcerer. Zombies became a popular device in modern horror fiction, largely because of the success of George A. Romero’s 1968 film Night of the Living Dead.
